Rhyme or reason describes whether something makes sense, poetically or logically; or an absence of common sense or reasonableness.

Shakespeare made the phrase popular, using it in his play The Comedy of Errors, written in 1590: “Was there ever any man thus beaten out of season, When in the why and the wherefore is neither rhyme nor reason?”

Ephesians 5:30-32

For we are members of His body. “For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.” This mystery is profound, but I am speaking about Christ and the church.

2 Timothy 1:10-12

The Real Thing

Snow White is so pure, smell her line I know for sure.

With my blade I cut the line, I try to make it oh so fine.

Her effects give me a peak, a sensation that I seek.

A little taste numbs my lip , and reminds me of the drip.

Wonder Weed

The small round seed is the key, that’s worth so much, yet is free.

The budding plant from this seed, is the root of many a man’s greed.

They’ll sell the buds to some anxious buyer, determined to get a little bit higher.

The piney scent we know so well, enhances the product they want to sell.

Once it’s bought, if you’re caught, you’ll be in jail looking for bail.

The trusty bong is the only way to make it worth the price you pay.

Clouds of smoke hang low in the air, but no one really seems to care.

Laying back and mellowing out, figuring out what it’s all about.

Cranking tunes and having fun, anything goes under the sun.

New Phase

In younger Days, I knew the Plays, to locate the Hays, on which to Graze, my eyes were a Glaze, my brain in a Daze, my body it Lays, catching the Rays, I’ve mastered the Maze, of that hazy Phase, no longer I Laze, ’cause a clean life Pays, this sincerely Conveys, a poem that Portrays, a tired old Craze, of David E.
