Hóng, meaning FLOOD, reveals the extent of the flood. It was not a localized flood; God would bring TOTAL WATER upon the land. The word for TOTAL here is significant also. It is a record of what would be left after the flood was finished. There would remain EIGHT TOGETHER upon the EARTH. Only Noah, his wife, their three sons, and their wives would survive.
Genesis 7:11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on the same day all the fountains of the great deep burst open, and the floodgates of the sky were opened.

Where is the remnant of the meteor rock?
Could the Martian and Lunar impact craters been produced by ice that eventually melted and evaporated back into space?
Hypothetically (just saying . . .), if over a 40 day and night period, the Earth was pelted by comets comparable to the scares evident on the lunar surface during the same event, what would be the volume of liquid that would have been produced, once the ice melted?
The liquid, likely evaporated back into space off the surface of moon and was trapped in Earth’s atmosphere and absorbed into the Earth.
Genesis 7:19-20 The water prevailed more and more upon the earth, so that all the high mountains everywhere under the heavens were covered. 20 The water prevailed fifteen cubits higher, and the mountains were covered.
Genesis 1:9-10 Then God said, “Let the waters below the heavens be gathered into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so. 10God called the dry land earth, and the gathering of the waters He called seas; and God saw that it was good.
